Our Theme day focused on developing resilience and 'Bouncing Back' from difficult situations.
The day started with an assembly to introduce the theme where the children saw a powerful clip on
YouTube which showed the ultimate display of resilience.
After lunch Mrs. Stanford's
sister-in-law who is a Paralympian spoke to the children powerfully about her snowboarding career and accident and then her subsequent rise to Team GB as a 'sit-skier'.
Not only was this truly inspiring but the children asked such thoughtful questions.
The day ended with a selection of rousing songs coordinated by Mrs. Allison that promoted the power of resilience and rising up above adversity all accompanied by our very own 'House Band' consisting of staff and children.
A huge thank you to all the children for joining in so enthusiastically with the day, all the staff for the huge amount of organisation involved and the parents and relatives who came into school during the day to join in.
Anna in action!
The children undertook a whole range of activities designed to promote teamwork, cooperation, debate, thought and a controlled amount of stress.
