We are immensely proud of our team of staff and students who are committed to inspiring and challenging your child to enable them to achieve and work hard to provide a nurturing environment where all children feel safe and cared for.

Governors have a strong focus on 3 core strategic functions:

  •

  • Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and

  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

I am the Operations Director of the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL) which involves developing specific training and professional development for school leaders across the country, specifically focused on the operational side of education e.g. Finance, Procurement, HR etc.

My day to day role involves regular engagement with and project delivery for the Department for Education (DfE), so I am immersed in the education sector, including policy changes and the implementation of these changes in schools.

I began my teaching career in 1989 at Templars Infant School in Coventry after completing my B.Ed (Hons) Degree at Worcester. I very quickly decided that battling the Tollbar roundabout every day was not for me! So, I applied for teaching posts in Rugby and was appointed at Bawnmore First School as a Year 1 class teacher. During my years in the classroom I have taught throughout the infant age range. I have worked for six different headteachers whilst at Bawnmore and I have been a school governor for the majority of this time. I was lucky enough to be appointed as Deputy Head, which then gave me two opportunities to take on the role of Acting Headteacher. Following my successful completion of the NPQH (National Professional Qualification of Headteachers) I was appointed to the substantive post of Headteacher at Bawnmore Community Infant School in 2007.  I am now in my 30th year at Bawnmore and every year has brought new challenges. Three years ago, I led the school into a soft federation with four schools at the Hillmorton side of Rugby. I am now excited to formalise our existing relationships by joining Bilton Infant and Bilton Junior School in the Bilton Community Federation, and I look forward to the new opportunities this will bring.
