Parking

Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to ask for everyone’s support in ensuring that parking around school at drop-off and collection
times is safe, legal and respectful of our neighbours.
We have recently received concerns from local residents about inconsiderate parking. This has included
vehicles blocking driveways and, on one occasion, a vehicle being parked on a resident’s private driveway.
I appreciate that the beginning and end of the school day are extremely busy and that finding a convenient
parking space can sometimes be difficult. However, this must not come at the expense of the safety of our
children or the ability of local residents to access and enjoy their own homes.
Please help us by:
- Never blocking or parking on residents’ driveways, even for a very short time.
- Keeping dropped kerbs, pavements, junctions and crossings clear.
- Observing all yellow lines and parking restrictions around the school.
- Parking a little further away and walking to school when there is no appropriate space nearby.
- Driving slowly and with particular care around children and families arriving at or leaving school.
We are fortunate to be part of a wider community, and our neighbours should be treated with the same
courtesy, kindness and respect that we expect within school.
I would therefore ask every parent and carer to consider carefully where they leave their vehicle. A few
extra minutes or a slightly longer walk can make a significant difference to the safety of our children and to
our relationship with those who live close to the school.
Thank you, as always, for your understanding and cooperation in helping us make the area around school
safe and welcoming for everyone.
