Computing
Technology is constantly changing the way we learn, communicate and interact with the world. At BJS, our Computing curriculum prepares children to navigate this digital world with confidence, creativity and responsibility. We aim to develop digitally literate learners who understand not only how to use technology effectively, but also how it works and the opportunities it can create. Through computer science, information technology and digital literacy, pupils develop skills in programming, logical thinking, problem-solving and creating digital content for different purposes and audiences. Children are encouraged to become independent thinkers who can experiment, debug, evaluate and improve their work. Online safety is woven throughout our curriculum, helping pupils understand how to protect their personal information, recognise potential risks, communicate respectfully and make sensible choices online. By combining technical knowledge with creativity and critical thinking, we want our children to become capable, responsible and adaptable digital citizens, ready to embrace the opportunities of an increasingly connected world.
