PSHE
At Bilton Church of England Junior School, we believe that PSHE plays a vital role in helping every child develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to lead a happy, healthy and fulfilling life. Through our myHappymind and myHappymind Plus programmes, we provide a carefully planned and progressive curriculum that supports children's emotional wellbeing, mental health, relationships and personal development. Pupils learn to understand and manage their emotions, build positive friendships, celebrate their individuality, make safe and healthy choices and develop resilience when faced with challenges. Our curriculum also explores online safety, growing and changing, economic wellbeing and future aspirations, preparing children for life beyond primary school. Alongside this, our whole-school Protective Behaviours programme empowers children to recognise when they feel unsafe, identify trusted adults and understand that they can talk to someone about anything. Rooted in our Christian values of Care, Honesty, Respect, Cooperation, Forgiveness and Resilience, and guided by our REACH principles, our PSHE curriculum aims to nurture confident, compassionate and responsible young people who feel valued, respect others and are equipped to make a positive difference in the world.
