Science
Science at Bilton Church of England Junior School is all about curiosity, discovery and developing a sense of wonder about the world around us. We want our children to become enthusiastic young scientists who are confident to ask questions, explore ideas and investigate how things work. Through practical investigations, experiments and scientific enquiry, pupils develop their understanding of biology, chemistry and physics while learning to observe carefully, make predictions, collect evidence and draw conclusions. Our progressive curriculum builds upon children's existing knowledge, encouraging them to think critically, challenge their understanding and make meaningful connections between scientific concepts and everyday life. We place great importance on developing scientific vocabulary and communication skills, enabling children to explain their thinking with increasing confidence and accuracy. Above all, we aim to inspire a lifelong interest in science, encouraging children to recognise the important role it plays in shaping our world and the exciting possibilities it offers for the future.
